DACA Renewal Calculator
Know your recommended filing window.
Independent, non-government tool. Not legal advice.
Your recommended filing window
If your DACA has also expired, read these USCIS explanations and get legal help for your circumstances:
- Window opens
- Window ends
- EAD expires
Planning window, not a legal deadline or an approval prediction. If it has passed, get legal help with your next step.
How it works
- Find the expiration date on your current EAD.
- Enter it above to see the recommended calendar-day window.
- Keep the dates in your calendar and check the current USCIS guidance.
Filing by mail? Allow time for delivery. This tool does not estimate postal transit or guarantee when USCIS receives your request.
If your EAD and I-797 approval notice show different expiration dates, ask a legal service provider to check them. This tool uses only the EAD date you enter.
Example: an EAD expiring March 1, 2027
Recommended window: October 2 – November 1, 2026. This is a fictional example, not a processing-time estimate.
A few common questions
Which expiration date should I enter?
Use your current EAD. If its expiration date differs from your I-797 approval notice, ask a legal service provider to review the documents. This calculator cannot decide which date controls your case.
Is this a legal deadline or an approval prediction?
No. These are recommended filing dates, not an approval forecast. USCIS DACA FAQ Q53 discusses requests outside the recommended period. Get legal advice if your window or EAD expiration has passed.
Is my date saved or sent anywhere?
No. Calculation and calendar creation happen in your browser. Reloading or changing language clears the input. A calendar file is created only when you choose to download it.
Can I request a renewal after my DACA expires?
USCIS FAQ Q53 says you may submit a renewal request after your most recent DACA period expires if you file within one year of its expiration. If more than one year has passed, or your most recent DACA grant was terminated at any time, Q53 describes submitting a new initial request. The same page’s court-decision alert says USCIS currently accepts initial requests but does not process them. Ask an immigration attorney or an accredited representative about your circumstances before filing.
Does unlawful presence accrue during a gap in DACA?
USCIS FAQ Q55 says that if your previous DACA period expires before your renewal is granted, unlawful presence accrues during the gap, unless you were under 18 when you submitted your renewal request. Ask an immigration attorney or an accredited representative about your individual circumstances.
